FICS Hosts Multimedia Artist Carlo Dimaano for Open Studio at Galeria Sinag

As part of the FICS Artist-in-Residence/Futurist-in-Residence Program, the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) invites both the UPOU community and the public to an open studio on Monday, 24 February 2025, featuring multimedia artist Carlo Dimaano. Dimaano, a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) candidate from UP Diliman and FICS Artist-in-Residence, is using UPOU’s Galeria Sinag as a workspace in preparation for his thesis exhibition titled, Aglomerasyon: Mga Tunog at Imahe ng Ilusyon at Alyenasyon. BAMS Students Present Metaverse Exhibit in Japan

Volunteer students from the Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Studies (BAMS) Program recently showcased an innovative metaverse exhibit during a short study visit to Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS). This presentation featured curated videos from students enrolled in MMS 198, a special topics course on intercultural communication and building digital bridges between the Philippines and Japan. The exhibit included contributions from collaborating institutions such as Tsuda University, the University of California Irvine, and Tokyo University of Foreign Studies.
