About Us

Welcome to the Faculty of Information & Communication Studies (FICS), a leading institution dedicated to advancing the field of information and communication studies in Southeast Asia. Since its inception in 2004, FICS has been committed to pioneering innovative programs, conducting impactful research, and providing essential community services.

As a degree-granting unit of the UP Open University, FICS offers a range of associate, undergraduate, and graduate programs designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in today’s fast-paced digital landscape. FICS programs are delivered entirely online, ensuring that students can access high-quality education regardless of their location or schedule.

At FICS, we believe that technology and communication play an integral role in shaping the social and economic development of our region. As such, we are dedicated to exploring the social impact of information and communication technology and piloting innovative applications of these technologies to meet the needs of the development assistance sector.

Our faculty members are comprised of 19 full-time and 31 affiliate and adjunct faculty members, all of whom are committed to fostering a culture of academic excellence, research, and community engagement. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and experiences, creating a vibrant and dynamic learning environment that promotes collaboration and the exchange of ideas.
