Luisa A. Gelisan
Assistant Professor of Multimedia and Development Communication
Asst. Prof. Luisa A. Gelisan’s training is in development communication and educational media production. She has been a full-time faculty member of the Faculty of Information and Communication Studies, UPOU since 2023 and currently serves as the University Registrar. She has been with UPOU since 1997, previously working as an Information Officer at the Office of the Chancellor, then later as a University Researcher, and Director of the UPOU Multimedia Center (now the Educational Media Production, Center for Open and Digital Teaching and Learning).
Her career began at Radyo DZLB, the radio station of UP Los Baños, as a Station Supervisor, Scriptwriter, Radio Announcer, and Program Producer. She later took on multimedia production roles in a state university, a non-government organization, and an international research institution.
As a University Researcher, she has presented at conferences and published research on the use of technology in distance education. She also serves as a trainer, resource speaker, and MOOC course developer and coordinator at UPOU.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Development Communication degree, major in Community Broadcasting, from UP Los Baños and a Master in Development Communication from UPOU, with additional graduate studies in Public Relations. In 2012, she was awarded a training fellowship in Audiovisual Learning Management at KU Leuven, Belgium.
