Professor of Organizational Communication
Dr. Jean A. Saludadez is a distinguished academic and administrator at the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU). She currently serves as a Professor in Organizational Communication and Chair of the Doctor of Communication (DComm) Program at the Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS).
Dr. Saludadez has mentored a hundred graduate students from various programs across UPOU’s faculties of study: DComm, Master of Development Communication (MDC), Master of Distance Education (MDE), Master of ASEAN Studies (MAS), and Master of Research and Development Management (MRDM). Her research interests encompass understanding organizations through the Communication as Constitutive of Organization (CCO) perspective, digital media as agents, open and distance e-learning, research and development management, and ASEAN Studies.
In addition to her academic roles, Dr. Saludadez has held significant administrative positions at UPOU. She was reappointed as the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration in March 2025, a role she first assumed in 2013.
Her contributions to research include publications in international journals and chapters in academic books, such as “Digital Media: From Tools to Agents Making a Difference,” which explores the role of digital media in organizational communication.
Dr. Saludadez earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Communication from Universiti Putra Malaysia, and both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Development Communication from the University of the Philippines Los Baños.
She has been recognized for her exemplary work and service, receiving the UPOU Gawad Chancellor Award for Outstanding Faculty in 2015 and 2022, UP International Publication Award in 2006 and 2022; and UP Professorial Lecture Award in 2016-2018 and 2019-2021.
