A survey course on development communication traditions, theories, principles, and approaches.

COURSE GOALS:

By the end of the course, you should be able to:

  • explain the so-called underdevelopment problematique;
  • cite, and compare basic models, theories, and concepts of communication;
  • discuss the function/role of communication in the development process;
  • define development communication;
  • articulate a philosophy of development communication;
  • describe the roles and competencies of a DevCom practitioner;
  • Illustrate or display your understanding through a knowledge product.
