COURSE DESCRIPTION: Current approaches to and issues in communication policy formulation and planning at the organizational, national, and global levels

PREREQUISITE: None

COURSE GOAL: This course will contribute to the Program’s goal of enabling the graduate to the use of research-based information and new knowledge to further enhance his/her intellectual, managerial, and decision-making skills in the practice of communication as a profession. 

At the end of the course, the student should be able to: 

  • describe the relationship between communication and the policy sciences 
  • apply qualitative and quantitative methods of communication policy analysis 
  • define the levels of communication policy and planning 
  • discuss models and approaches to communication policy and planning 
  • discuss issues on communication policy
