COURSE DESCRIPTION: Current approaches to and issues in communication policy formulation and planning at the organizational, national, and global levels
PREREQUISITE: None
COURSE GOAL: This course will contribute to the Program’s goal of enabling the graduate to the use of research-based information and new knowledge to further enhance his/her intellectual, managerial, and decision-making skills in the practice of communication as a profession.
At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
- describe the relationship between communication and the policy sciences
- apply qualitative and quantitative methods of communication policy analysis
- define the levels of communication policy and planning
- discuss models and approaches to communication policy and planning
- discuss issues on communication policy
