Roda L. Tajon

Assistant Professor of Information and Communication Studies

Roda Tajon teaches communication, gender studies, and popular culture at the Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS), University of the Philippines Open University. Before entering academia, she worked for over fifteen years in development, serving as a writer, community organizer, capacity building officer, project leader, and monitoring and evaluation officer. She led projects that produced books and other information materials on disaster risk reduction, gender sensitivity, human rights, and children’s rights: projects that primarily supported women, children, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and indigenous peoples. She is currently engaged in feminist publishing, assisting in the editing and production of works authored by women. Her creative and scholarly works have received awards and have appeared in journals such as Agos, TLDTD, Luntian, and the Review of Women’s Studies, among others.
