Hello! 大家好! I am Reinald Adrian Pugoy (李仁傑), an Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines – Open University (UPOU), which pioneered Open and Distance e-Learning in the Philippines. Courses I teach include Programming Languages, Object-Oriented Programming, and Artificial Intelligence, and I handle mostly graduate students. Furthermore, I happen to be the current Director of our university’s ICT Development Office.

I received my MS and BS degrees (both in Computer Science) from the University of the Philippines – Los Baños (UPLB) where I used to do research on Digital Image Processing and VoIP, respectively.

I obtained my PhD in Computer Science and Information Engineering degree at the CSIE Department, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Tainan City, Taiwan. I was a member of the Intelligent Knowledge Management Lab under the supervision of Prof. Hung-Yu Kao. My PhD research deals with the intersection of Recommender Systems, Natural Language Processing, and Deep Learning. Soon, I will be starting my research fellowship at the Anadolu University in Turkiye.
