An introduction to and an overview of the study of communication and culture; comparative analysis of communication variables and systems across cultures.

COURSE GOAL:

At the end of the course, the student should:

  • understand the philosophical and theoretical underpinnings of the relationship between communication and culture.
  • appreciate the role of communication and culture in social dynamics
  • conduct and present a brief study using one of the different approaches employed in analyzing
