PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project aims to develop and offer courses on the various aspects of child rights promotion and protection.  Phase 1 of the project resulted in the development and offering of three courses, :  CRP201 (Convention on the Rights of the Child); CRP205 (Managing Programs on Child Rights Protection and Promotion); and CRP208 (Communication and Social Mobilization for Child Rights Protection and Promotion).  Enrollment in these courses was through the scholarship fund provided by UNICEF-Philippines.

In 2014, the second phase of the project was started taking off from what were accomplished in Phase 1.  To address the clamor for scholarship slots and also to contribute to opening access to courses related to child rights protection and promotion, UPOU and UNICEF-Philippines decided to offer the courses as Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).  From the three courses, eight MOOCs will be offered, each course to last for six weeks.

As MOOCs, these courses are free of charge and are offered under the distance elearning mode of instruction.  Courses can be accessed at esmp.upou.edu.ph
